How to Make Game Day Sliders
1. Season the beef
Add your Weather Rock ground beef to a bowl and gently mix in the garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Be careful not to overwork the meat—you want your sliders to stay tender and juicy.
2. Shape your sliders
Divide the beef into 12 equal portions and gently shape each into a small patty. Make them slightly wider than your buns, since they'll shrink slightly while cooking.
3. Cook the onions
Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat. Add the butter or olive oil and sliced onions. Cook until softened and lightly caramelized, about 5–8 minutes. Remove and set aside.
4. Fire up the burgers
Increase the heat to medium-high and cook the slider patties for approximately 2–3 minutes per side, depending on thickness and your preferred temp. Add cheese during the final minute and let it melt over the patties.
For food safety, cook ground beef to an internal temperature of 160°F.
5. Build your sliders
Toast your slider buns, then layer on the beef, melted cheese, caramelized onions, pickles, and your favorite toppings.
Serve immediately—and don't expect leftovers.
Make Them Your Own
The beauty of sliders is that you can take them in just about any direction. Try:
-
Classic: American cheese, pickles, ketchup, and mustard
-
BBQ: Cheddar, caramelized onions, and BBQ sauce
-
Bacon cheeseburger: Crispy bacon, cheddar, and burger sauce
-
Jalapeño popper: Pepper jack, jalapeños, and a creamy sauce
-
French onion: Swiss or Gruyère, caramelized onions, and a savory sauce
The Secret Is in the Beef
